Eric Morris Eskenazi was born and raised in Southern California. He grew up in Seal Beach, a small coastal town in Orange County. Part of his childhood was spent in Cathedral City, a desert city in the Palm Springs area. While enrolled at the Orange County High School of the Arts' as a Technical Theater major, he apprenticed with the Joffrey Ballet's Dimensions in Dance program. His surrealistic poetry garnered him accolades from Princeton University during his junior year.
Eric left the West Coast in 1991 and headed to New York City to begin his undergraduate studies at NYU. He majored in Dramatic Writing from Tisch School of the Arts and minored in Art History. During his tenure at NYU, Eric interned at Killer Films and at Fangoria magazine. Post-college, he has freelanced on independent and studio films, worked at Miramax Films and assisted with the editing of several reality shows.
In addition, Eric has written, produced and directed numerous shorts, documentaries and independent feature projects. His works have screened at The Anthology Film Archives, Brooklyn Academy of Music and film festivals in Canada, Norway and the US.
One of his biggest passions is Bikram yoga, which he has been practicing since 2002. Eric owes his perseverance with directing and producing projects due to his regular yoga practice.
